Being open with your family can be difficult depending on your individual family. Some parents are easy to talk to and others are more difficult.
A tip to make it easier could be to write them a letter and leave it sitting in their room. Or you can send a long text and say I don't know how to say this to your face but I really want to tell you. I want you to know. Can we have a conversation
about this? Once you get the conversation going, hopefully your parent will reciprocate and they will help you out with it.
